South Africa Tourist Visa

    • Original & old passport:
      • Passport should be valid for 06 months from the date of travel & minimum 03 blank pages for visa stamping
    • PAN card and AADHAR card (Front side and Back side) compulsory.
    • Photographs:
      • 4 recent photographs – 35*45 mm size, white background, matt finish & 70% face image & not used in previous visa)
      • Photograph should not be more than 3 months old 
    • Firm or business letter head (Letterhead must be in English) and visiting card: 
    • Financials:
      • 06 months bank statements with balance of Rs. 30,000/- Per person. Also, with sign & stamp on each page. And Bank balance Certificate  
      • Last 03-year Income Tax Return
      • N.O.C. letter from Employer/School/University stating name, passport no & duration of stay (Original) in English 
      • Birth Certificate for Minor Child in English 
      • Notarized letter of consent for minors (below 18 years of age) travelling alone or with one of the parents, and a full birth certificate 

Note: If Birth Certificate is in Gujarati than translate in English & notarized.

Important Note:

  • Republic of South Africa has issued a new advisory for tourists accompanied with children. Effective from 1st June 2015, such tourists would now need to fulfil a few simple requirements when travelling to and from the country. 

Whenever an adult travel with a child, he or she has to produce amongst others an unabridged birth certificate in respect of that child at any South African port of entry. This applies to

  • South African travellers travelling internationally and returning to the Republic from another country 
  • Foreign nationals travelling to and from the Republic who require a visa to visit South Africa 
  • Foreign nationals travelling to and from the Republic who do not require a visa to visit South Africa 

Requirements for different situations are explained below:

Both parents travelling together who are accompanied by one or more children have to produce:

  • A passport and/or visa for each traveller, including every child 
  • An unabridged birth certificate of each child 

Only one parent travelling with a child has to produce:

  • A passport and/or visa for each traveller, including every child 
  • An unabridged birth certificate of every child 
  • A recently dated affidavit from the other parent registered on the birth certificate of the child authorising him or her to enter into or depart from South Africa with the child

OR

  • A court order granting full parental responsibilities and rights or legal guardianship in respect of any child to the travelling parent 

OR

  • A death certificate of the other parent 

A person travelling with a child who is not his or her biological child has to produce: 

  • A passport and/or visa for each traveller, including every child 
  • An unabridged birth certificate of the child 
  • An affidavit from both parents giving permission to travel with the child; alternatively, an affidavit from one parent and death certificate or court order reflecting full parental rights having been conferred on the single parent 
  • Copies of the ID’s or passports of the parents or legal guardian of the child 
  • The telephonic contact numbers of the parents of the child. 

An unaccompanied child has to produce: 

  • A passport and/or visa 
  • A letter or affidavit of consent from one or both his or her parents or legal guardian granting permission to the child to travel into or depart from South Africa 
  • In case only one parent provides proof of consent, that parent must also provide a copy of a court order in terms of which he or she has full parental responsibilities and rights in respect of the child 
  • A letter from the person who is to receive her or him in South Africa containing that person’s residential address and contact details in South Africa where the child will be residing 
  • A copy of the identity document or valid passport and visa or permanent residence permit of the person who is to receive the child 

Note: The South African High Commission, has made it mandatory to submit Original Yellow Fever Vaccination Card for the travellers who had visited yellow fever affected countries within last 12 months. 

Also, it is recommended to carry the Original Yellow Fever Vaccination Card while traveling to South Africa in order to produce if demanded by the department of health at the port of entry 

  • Evidence of Proposed Tourist in South Africa: 
    • Day to day Itinerary on the letterhead of the Travel Agent, Hotel Confirmation, return confirm ticket.

Note: The person who signs the invitation letter i.e. HR or Company Executive needs to provide a Valid attested Photo ID (latest 3months) copy by Commissioner of oaths. 

Visa Process Time: Approx. 12 to 15 working days after submission in consulate/embassy.
